LICENSING POLICIES
We employ a pricing scale, based on your usage of our film. 

​Colleges & Universities
Purchase gives a lease for the life of the DVD. The acquiring institution gains public performance rights for classroom or library use for non-paying audiences only.

K-12 Schools, Public Libraries, and Community Groups
Purchase gives a lease for the life of the DVD. The acquiring institution gains rights for classroom, library or internal community group use for non-paying audiences only. For a public screening please see our Public Screening Rights below.

Public Screening Rights for Community Groups
Clarity Films Public Screening Rights for a community group, library or K-12 school grants the purchaser (the Licensee) the right to show the DVD publicly if the  following terms are observed.
  • A public screening can only take place in the city of town where the community organization is located.
  • Permission by Clarity Films is required for each public screening before it is arranged and publicized.
  • All publicity of the screening must include a link to clarityfilms.org and credit the film’s Director and Producers with the title of the film.

Individual 
Individual purchasers may use the DVD in non-institutional contexts only. It is for home use only and may not be used in class, circulated in an institutional library, or be exhibited to the general public.

Digital Streaming Rights
A Clarity Films Site/Local Streaming License grants a purchasing institution (the Licensee) the rights to encode a digital file in any file format from any DVD already purchased or purchased at the time from Clarity Films. Digital encoding may be done for a period of up to 3 years from the time of licensing but the resulting file may be streamed for five years. Licensees may then deliver the contents of these files via password-protected digital streaming only to registered students, accredited researchers, faculty and staff of that institution. Files may be used for in-class instruction, inclusion in course management software, library research, extracurricular activities, distance learning programs, public performances (provided admission is not charged) and any other activity directly administered by the licensing campus.  Licensees may not telecast, cablecast or deliver from any website open to the public any content licensed under this agreement nor may they lend, rent or donate any of the licensed content to another organization or campus for use in activities.
